shared weekly usage pool, "Base", size not published
›The vendor's own wording
The X Subscription price table gives Plus "$8/mo", "$80/yr ($7/mo)" with included usage "Base"; the cursor.com/pricing card calls it "Our introductory plan: Shared AI usage pool". The higher tiers are sized as multiples of it ("4x more usage compared to Plus"), and no figure is published for the base itself.Open the source page

Subscription versus your own API key
This compares two ways of working the same way — in an IDE or CLI, where BYOK tools make a direct API key a real option. It is not a claim that subscriptions are cheaper than the API in general.

Usage terms
Quoted from the vendor's own terms. We do not give legal advice.
The X Subscription Consumer Terms of Service cover "Grok, Grokipedia, Grok Bot, Cursor, and other services" and contain no clause authorizing programmatic access to the subscription; API use is governed elsewhere: "Our Enterprise Terms of Service govern the use of our Services for developers and businesses, for example SpaceXSI APIs and PromptIDE." The nearest restrictions are "(iii) rent, lease, lend, or sell the Service" and "(viii) harvest, scrape, or extract data from the Service". The Grok API access included from Plus up does not draw on the plan: "API usage is billed separately at standard model rates and doesn't draw from your plan's usage pool." Read as: the terms do not explicitly authorize it.
