›The vendor's own wording
The billing doc gives Copilot Pro at "$10 USD" per month with "1,000" base credits and a "500" flex allotment, totalling "1,500" monthly AI credits. The billing reference fixes their value: "the total is converted into AI Credits, where 1 AI credit = $0.01 USD". The plans page states the same allowance in dollars, "$15 monthly total credits for Pro", which is the same figure at 100 credits to the dollar.Open the source page

Subscription versus your own API key
This compares two ways of working the same way — in an IDE or CLI, where BYOK tools make a direct API key a real option. It is not a claim that subscriptions are cheaper than the API in general.
No API price to compare against
Usage terms
Quoted from the vendor's own terms. We do not give legal advice.
GitHub's Terms for Additional Products and Features do not set out a programmatic-access clause for Copilot themselves; they defer to the GitHub Copilot Product Specific Terms. Copilot is delivered through supported IDEs, the CLI and github.com and exposes no public API endpoint. Read as: the terms do not explicitly authorize it.
